Day 2: Eating Flowers

I awaken in my bed…or a bed. I’m dazed and trying to figure out where I am. Am I late for work. As the room comes into focus around me, I remember it all. The move-leaving practically everything behind. The rocks. The weeds. Getting woozy…and waking up in my bed?

I walk outside and have mail! I check my mail and discover, for some reason, agents of the corporation I worked at before discovered me passed out and brought me inside to my bed. How did they know that was my house? Why were they there? Am I being spied on? Is this the start of a movie or novel and I don’t know? Regardless, they charged me 50 dollars for the assistance, so good to see they are as horrid as ever.

I also had a letter from someone telling me they were fishing and I should join them. Maybe I’ll find them later.

I looked out at my new land…and decided it was time to get to work some more. I spent hours clearing rocks, weeds, trees-until I started getting tired again. Never say I don’t learn from my mistakes…I decided that meant it was time to stop for the day. The one piece of unsolicited advice I received (remember, I request you give me none on this journey) was: when your energy is low, you should eat. That sounded nice, so I decided to try. However…I had no food. I guess it was time to walk around the town. Maybe I could find a burger somewhere.

I have way too much stuff on me, however. My inventory is full. So I look for a place to store things and can find nothing. I start messing around, and discover I can craft. So I make a chest…and it turns out, since my inventory is full I’m told I must delete something. I try a number of things and the UI in my life is just really bad…so there is no option…I can’t find another choice, and I delete the item from my life. It is gone forever. I only had one of them and don’t remember what it was-hopefully it wasn’t rare or important.

Regardless I figure out how to set down the chest (somehow picking up the rug as I do) and set out to explore.

I find some flowers-a dandelion and something else-and on a whim decide to pick them up. I continue walking and find an old graveyard. Still no people-are all the residents of this town in the graveyard? As I continue walking I find two wild horseradishes or something. I decide to eat one, and feel a small burst of energy. I realize the flowers are edible also…so give one a try. Nothing. I try the other-decent energy boost!

So I continue walking and find a pier-with a person. A living person! Or a ghost-who knows in this dread village. I speak with her and all she will tell me is that I picked a nice time to move to town, because she loves spring. Seems suspect to me. I believe her name was Leah, but could be wrong. She appears to not be the mysterious fisher who sent me a letter. I leave…and soon find my way to the bottom of my property.

This place is weird-is it not as peaceful as it seems?

Only one thing left to do-I go to sleep for the night.
